1st John
1 John 5:18 "We know that whoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not." This verse says a lot. One, that satan can't mess with us when we're in Christ. "You can't touch this" satan. Lol and we R to keep ourselves meaning we need to remain in the vine, in Jesus and stay on the narrow path. Also we R to not "sin" if we R in Christ. Some pastors say what John meant to write was habitual sin but it literally says we R not to sin if we R in Christ so that raises the question of what qualifies as sin? Broadly it is any way we do not love God or love others. Granted we mess up in relationships with others but if we hate anyone that is what John is talking about as sin that should not be in a Christian. "He that hateth his brother is in darkness." We can dislike someone for a time, but if God is truly in us, we cannot hate our brother, because God is love, and if he is really in us, we will love others. :) amen :) Keep in mind though that Jesus was strongly against the pharasees. He did not hate them but he did hate their pride and the hardness of their hearts. We are to love the sinner but hate the sin. We are to "hate what is evil and cling to what is good." But loving our brother means we would want to save them from sin and evil if we can. But in trying to save them, do not hate them. Rather have compassion on them as Jesus did. "Love is patient, love is kind...." Be careful in how you love. Make sure you are loving as Jesus loved. That does not mean be a doormat. Jesus was very confrontational with many different people. He still took time to be alone. He still got angry with people. But he was without sin. If you truly belong to God you will walk as Jesus did and love all people as he did. So check to see if you are loving others as he did. God bless! :)
