I lost my job yesterday.
It was quite silly really. I just didn't tell a manager that I would be taking a somewhat extended break to go marry Ben at the courthouse. They didn't care for that much at all. lol But it was a long drive to that job anyways, a very long drive.
I would have been calling people all day who had taken out loans with the company asking them to take out another one, which in my conscious I did not feel was right at all.
People apply for these loans online.
Say someone takes out a $400 loan and they break up paying it "back" into 6 "payments." Every 2 weeks they are charged a service charge of $120 for the $400 they borrowed. A complete and total rip off.
So if they set up 6 "payments" they literally ONLY pay the service charge of $120 for the first 3 payments. $120 three times and none of that goes toward paying off the actual loan.
Then on the next payment there is still the service change and only $50 goes towards the principle balance.
So if 6 "payments" are made that is $720 in "service charges." Quite the scam if you ask me. So I would have been working for the mafia anyways lol.
I am quite glad I got fired from that job. :) Praise God lol.
I'm sure I will find a job in a pre-school soon and I would feel like I'm making much more of a difference there anyways.
May God open doors for me and send me to the best job where I can help the most people. :) Amen.
Perhaps God had me just go through the training for that job to teach more about the evils of the banks and how they rip people off left and right.
So be careful with taking out these convenience loans and be wary, as always, of credit cards. It feels like free money but it's not, obviously. It's completely the opposite. It's money that costs money. :(
Shakespeare wisely said, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be." There are student loans, which I very much regret taking out, but anything else can be avoided if you really think about it. Buy the old used car and pay it all down instead of taking a loan out on a new one.
Ben and I don't plan on ever buying a house. The recession will only get worse I think. It seems quite foolish to take out a massive house loan in times like these when good jobs are so scarce.
I think our cars will last another 10 years so we are good to go on that.
May God help us to be content with what we have and not have a lust for what we don't need. May God help us to be frugal with our money and good stewards of what we already have. Amen. :)
